Mindful Awareness Training Program for Stress Reduction

Dr. Freedman and Dr. Masson are not currently teaching this program as they are working on developing more specialized mindfulness programs.

Dr. Jacqueline Masson, MD, CM, FRCP(C) 

 Dr. Masson has an interest in the application of mindfulness techniques to eating issues. To this end, she has begun her study using workshops and writings in this area.


Dr. M. Lee Freedman, MD, CM, FRCP(C)

Dr. Freedman is currently developing mindfulness programs for children, parents and families as well as workshops in mindful photography. Please see below for some of the workshops and programs she is offering:

  • Dr. Freedman, in affiliation with Andrew Shaul Psychology, will be facilitating a one day workshop entitled, A Mindfulness Primer Workshop. This workshop is designed to introduce therapists, clinicians and students to the practice of mindfulness. The workshop will take place on November 25, 2011 at 918 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario.   • Dr. Freedman, together with Gayle Saifert, will be facilitating a 4 week program called Parenting your Anxious Child with Mindfulness in January, 2012.

  • Dr. Freedman, together with Gayle Saifert, will be facilitating a 12 week program called MBCT-C for Anxious Children, a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy program for children diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in February, 2012.

  • Dr. Freedman will be teaching a workshop on February 4, 2012Mindful Parents: Resilient Children: Teaching Mindful Parenting Practice through Group and Individual Psychotherapy at Bridging the Hearts and Minds of Youth: Mindfulness in Clinical Practice, Education, and Research, a conference presented by UCSD Center for Mindfulness, UC San Diego School of Medicine, and Stressed Teens.
